Brendan Greene, Erfinder des Battle Royale-Genres und Creative Director bei PUBG, hat heute bekanntgegeben, dass er sich ab sofort neuen Aufgaben innerhalb von PUBG Corp. widmen wird.
„PlayerUnknown“ zeigt sich bei PUBG Corp. für die neue Abteilung PUBG Special Projects verantwortlich, die für Forschung und Spielentwicklung zuständig ist. Vom PUBG-Standort in Amsterdam aus widmet sich das Team auch neuen Wegen der Interaktion und Kommunikation in Spielen.
Die Leitung der Entwicklung und Optimierung von PUBG übernehmen Taeseok Jang und Team, die bereits seit drei Jahren hauptverantwortlich am Spiel arbeiten. Nach fünf Jahren PUBG bleibt Greene in einer Rolle als Consultant weiterhin Creative Director des Spiels.

The past five years of my life has been all about battle royale. From the early days working on a mod to getting the chance to create my vision for a battle royale title, PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS.
It’s been an incredible journey and our game has reached heights I never thought possible. Seeing the game grow into what it is today has been a dream come true and I can’t thank our fans and the incredible team at PUBG Corporation enough.
Today, I’m excited to announce that my new day-to-day focus will be heading up a new division of PUBG Corp.: PUBG Special Projects.
While I’ll remain as a consulting creative director on PUBG, development will be led by Taeseok Jang and the fantastic team I have had the honor of working with over the past three years. They have some great things planned for this year, and I can’t wait to share more with you soon!
Going forward, I’ll be based in Amsterdam, rather than Seoul, and focused on building out an entirely new division to focus on research & game development.
Online experiences and spaces can connect us in ways I only dreamed of when I first sat in front of a computer some 30 years ago. And it is those dreams of connecting others that is driving our work at PUBG Special Projects.
We are tasked with exploring, experimenting, and creating new technologies, tools, pipelines, and gameplay; but for me, it is more than that. Together with a team of game developers and researchers, we will explore new possibilities of interaction and connection within the game space.
I’ll also be making a new life for myself in Amsterdam. I’ve spent the past two years on the road meeting so many of you at conventions and other industry events, which has been a fantastic experience, but I missed having a place to call home and a room to play games.
So, I can’t wait to start this new journey with a new team in a new city, play some games again, and see what the future holds.
